Salwan Boys Senior Sec. School, Delhi stuns DAV Sr. Sec. School, Punjab with over all performances

New Delhi, 24 April 2013: Budding star Nitin Tanwar (67 runs and 3 wickets) helped Salwan Boys Senior Sec. School, Delhi beat DAV Sr. Sec. School, Punjab by 128 runs in Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 inter-state tournament, played at G-Block, Vikas Puri ground today.

Batting first after winning the toss, Salwan Boys Senior Sec. School, Delhi put together a total of 261/8 in 45 overs. Nitin Tanwar and Shivam Chauhan scored (67) and (63) respectively. Manish Sherawat also joined in by scoring (32 runs). Abhinav Sharma from DAV Sr. Sec. School, Punjab was the highest wicket-taker as he took 3 wickets. Karan Kanojia and Shivam shared 2 wickets each.

 In reply, a well played inning by DAV Sr. Sec's Navneet (31 runs) did not help the team much as their batting line up collapsed at 133 runs in 36.2 overs. Nitin Tanwar and Anish Ali took  wickets each.

 Nitin Tanwar was later adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular overall performance

In second match, a splendid century by Mahboob Shaikh of Anjuman I-Islam Allana Eng. School, Mumbai in 70 balls helped the team score 283 runs in 45 overs. It eventually led to an easy win as Sree Valmeeki High School, AP could barely chase the target and were all out in 35.5 overs, scoring 88 runs. Anjuman I-Islam Allana Eng. School, Mumbai won the opening match by huge margin of 195 runs.

In another match, Man of the Match Harsh Sharma from CAV Inter College, Allahabad took 3 wickets which helped his team to register the easy win by 10 wickets against Navrachna School, Baroda. Navrachna School, Baroda was all out for 76 in 35.4 over’s whereas CAV Inter College, Allahabad chased their target of 76 runs in just 7.1 over with 10 wickets in hand.
