Hindu-Sikh Refugees from Pakistan Fear for Life

Hindu-Sikh Refugees from Pakistan
Fear for Life of their Families
Kids left in Pakistan can be killed any time
Dr. Malhotra, Siddiqui & Jolly Express Concern
New Delhi, 21st Dec 2012: President Delhi Study Group Shri. Vijay Jolly today organized a seminar on “Plight of Minorities in Pakistan” at Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi. At the crowded public program, the safety of families of Hindu Sikh refugees left behind in Pakistan and the possibility of the kids left behind be subject to murders any time was the concern expressed at the program.
The Chief Speaker at the program was Dr. V.K. Malhotra, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly. The other speakers were renowned Journalist & Ex. MP Shahid Siddiqui, Goa MLA Vincent Lobo & Munawar Leghari etc. Muslim Rashtriya Manch Convenor Mohd. Afzal also spoke on the occasion. The program was presided by Ex. MLA & President Delhi Study Group Mr. Vijay Jolly. Muslims participated in large numbers in the program.
The recent visit to India by Pakistan Interior Mr. Rehman Malik was flayed. The visit was a failure. Pakistan govt. washed its hands of Hindu–Sikh killings, kidnappings and demolition of Hindu temples in Pakistan. Due to the anti minority stand of Pak Govt., some Hindu families to save their life and families were forced to migrate to India. But today they are living in ‘fear psychosis’ for the safety of their women folks left behind in Pakistan. They are spending sleepless nights and are experiencing night mares.
Dr. Malhotra, Siddiqui and Mr. Jolly while speaking on the occasion stated that minorities in Pakistan are living in a atmosphere of fear. At the time of partition of India & Pakistan, there were 75 lakh Hindu & Sikhs in Pakistan. They constituted 22% of the total Pak population. But today the Hindu Sikh population in Pakistan is 1.7%. This is alarming. Quoting Pakistan Human Right Commission report, Dr. Malhotra, Siddiqui & Mr. Jolly stated that every month 25-30 Hindu girls are abducted. And later on they are forced to convert and married off to Muslim boys. Also due to the Pak blasphemy laws, the Human Rights of Minorities are violated.

On 7th Aug 2012, Hindu girl Manisha Kumari was kidnapped and raped. On 10th Aug 2012, nearly 250 Hindu families migrated to India. And recently on 13th Dec 2012 in Mastoong area in Balochistan Hindu doctor Lakhami Chand was gunned down in broad day light. These were highlighted by the Pakistan media. It is painful & dreadful stated Indian leaders.
Dr. Malhotra and Mr. Jolly condemned the demolition of hindu temples in Pakistan. In year 2012, four hindu temples were razed down. It is unfortunate. In February in Rawalpindi the Ram mandir was demolished, in November the Karachi located Laxmi Narayan mandir in Pakistan occupied Kashmir area of Maneshra the massive Shiv Shivala and now recently in Karachi city nearly 200 years old hindu temple was demolished. It also left nearly 40 hindu families homeless. Today the hindus and minority rights are brutally crushed in Pakistan alleged Indian leaders.
Delhi Study Group today demanded that Pakistan govt. should protect the minorities in their country. It should stand up in support of the hindu & sikh minorities. Pak govt. should restore the confidence of its citizens in their governance. Besides this the Indian govt. should consider giving citizenship to the Hindus & Sikhs migrating from Pakistan. And all such migrants be provided identity cards, cheap ration along with other humanitarian assistance.
The program was conducted by Gen. Sec. DSG & eminent Supreme Court Advocate Mrs. Pinky Anand. The prominent office bearers attending the program were Bhupendra Kansil, Ashok Garg, Pravesh Verma, Siddharth Nath Singh, Gopal Garg, Surya P. Khatri, Manoj Arora, Vijay Mehta, Rajinder Gupta, Sardar Hartirath Singh, M.S. Sirsa, Anil Jindal, Gajendra Solanki, Raj Khurana, Smt. Vandana Pathak, Narendra Chawla & Smt. Anita Malik.
