Counting begins in Japan’s general election

Japan’s voting in Sunday’s Lower House election is  to end and the vote counting begin immediately after ballot stations close at 8 PM.The Internal Affairs Ministry said voter turnout was 34.87 percent as of 4 PM. This is 6.93 points lower than the comparable figure in the previous election in 2009.
Authorities at ministry said 12.03-million people cast early votes nationwide. This accounts for 11.54 percent of the total constituents.The number of early voters decreased by nearly 2 million people from the previous figure 3 years ago.Most results will be known later in the evening.Media agencis
