Aug 2013 CPI inflation stands at 9.5 %

(Rural India inflation stands at 8.9% in August as compared to 9.1% in July 2013 and urban India inflation stands at 10.3% in August as against 10.2% in July 2013)

The all India general CPI (Combined) for August 2013 stands at 9.5% as compared to 9.6% in July 2013. The inflation rates for rural and urban areas for August 2013 are 8.9% and 10.3% as compared to 9.1% and 10.2% respectively, for July 2013.

Rate of inflation during August 2013 is high in vegetables at 26.48%, cereals and products at 14.09%, egg, meat & fish at 13.65%, non alcoholic beverages at 10.13%, prepared meals at 9.76%, clothing, bedding and footwear at 8.99%
