Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing Government of Duba

Greetings from DTCM India Office!

We commenced this month by participating at the Times of India travel fair titled ITM which was held from the 3rd- 5th of February in Mumbai. Soon after we participated at the Travel Outbound Workshop (TOW) 2012 which was held across 3 cities namely – Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. This workshop met with immense success and had around 40 sellers participate from around 15 Countries along with some big names in the global travel trade community and premium cruise operators. Immediately after TOW, we took part at the South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE) which was held in Delhi from the 10th – 12th of February. I would like to thank the organizers of SATTE 2012 and the travel fraternity for the overwhelming support during this exclusive B2B trade meet.

Dubai as a city is devoid of a dull moment. There is ample entertainment for everyone irrespective of what your preferences are. Thus for this month’s newsletter; we chose to highlight upcoming entertainment festivals in Dubai such as the ‘Emirates Airline International Festival of Literature’, ‘Taste of Dubai 2012’, ‘X2 - Multiples Festival’, and ‘Art Week 2012’ which positions the Gulf as a place of artistic production and home to multiple cultural centres. These festivals of entertainment though varied in nature have a common focus which is uniting people with a common interest and love for the subject in question – be it literature, food, music or art. These festivals are of an international standard and promise to keep people coming back for more.

I hope to catch up with most of you in Berlin for the ITB Travel Trade Show and in Istanbul for the Diamond Jubilee Indian Travel Congress, 60th Convention and Exhibition of TAAI Convention. Thank you once again for your continued patronage towards Dubai and wishing you all a great month ahead!

Sincerely,

Carl Vaz
