DTCM India Newsletter March 2012

Dear travel partner,

Greetings from DTCM India Office!

I am pleased to inform you that yet again India as emerged as the top source market for inbound visitor traffic into Dubai. After the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India has emerged as a key source market; the total number of Indian guests staying at Dubai's hotel and hotel apartments registered an impressive 702,142 in the year 2011. A 10% increase from 638,100 Indian travelers in the year 2010.

Dubai has also topped the global list of hotel occupancy levels and average revenue per room (REV PAR). Dubai hotel establishments’ 86.2 per cent occupancy level in the month of January 2012 has placed it on top on the list of 15 top performance destinations, up from 75.4 per cent occupancy levels they posted last year. This distinction has placed the Emirate above many of the world's leading destinations.

The focus for our March newsletter is on ‘Arts and Culture’. Art exhibitions in Dubai highlight a wide spectrum of art shows and cultural activities, from Emirati-inspired celebrations to international film festivals. We have highlighted several upcoming art and cultural events such as ‘SIKKA 2012’, ‘Art Week 2012’, ‘Nuqat Dubai Design Conference 2012’, ‘Art Dubai 2012’ and others.

With your continued support during 2012, we will strive to excel in sphere at DTCM India. On behalf of the entire team I thank you!

Wishing all of you a great month ahead!

Sincerely,
Carl Vaz
