discuss evaluation of rural development programme in IndiaDate: Thursday, 11 June 2015 – 2 - 5 p.m.Venue: Claridges Hotel, 12 Aurangzeb Road, New DelhiChair inception workshop: Mr Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary (MI), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of FinanceChair learning event: Mr Rishikesh Singh, Director (MI), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of FinanceThe International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations,cordially invites you to a learning event that will discuss findings and recommendations of a recent impact evaluation of the IFAD-funded Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh Tribal Development Programme (JCTDP).The learning event (2 – 5 p.m. on 11 June) will include a presentation of results and recommendations from the evaluation, as well as share the methodological approach, challenges and lessons learned in applying rigorous quantitative methods to evaluate the impact of IFAD-funded rural development operations.The event will be attended by representatives from ministries, governmental departments, development organizations, think tanks, foundations and representatives from IFAD';s Independent Office of Evaluation, Programme Management Department and project staff. It will be chaired by the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) of the Ministry of Finance of India. The Secretary of the Welfare Department of Jharkhand and the Secretary of the Tribal Development Department of Chhattisgarh will also be invited to deliver introductory remarks for the learning event on the impact evaluation.Personal interviews with Mr Ashwani Muthoo, Deputy Director of the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD (IOE) can be arranged upon request.We look forward to your kind participation.
