Haryana Transport Dept to install GPS in all State Roadways buses

Haryana Transport Dept to install GPS in all State Roadways buses-Haryana Transport Department has decided to install Global Positioning System (GPS) in all buses of the State Roadways for their monitoring. A proposal to this effect involving an investment of 9.71 crore rupees had been submitted to the Centre for its assistance.

Disclosing this at Chandigarh on Sunday, a spokesman of State Transport Department said that the Government of India has sanctioned 8.50 crore rupees as Central assistance under the scheme and out of this amount, first installment 4.25 crore rupees had already been released.

In Punjab and Haryana, Adampur near Jalandhar shivered in a minimum of 1.2 degree Celsius and has remained the coldest in the plains followed by Ambala and Amritsar. Chandigarh has also registered below five degrees Celsius. Although, it was a sunny day but early morning chill and pulmmeting evening temperatures force people to be indoors.

The Met Dept has predicted ground frost at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana. Fog is also expected at many places in both the states during morning and late evening
