VHP OPPOSES FDI IN RETAIL

WE WILL SUPPORT ANY AGITATION INCLUDING TOMORROW’S BHARAT BANDH AGAINST FDI IN RETAIL SECTOR – DR. PRAVINBHAI TOGADIA, SECRETARY GENERAL, VISHWA HINDU PARISHAD

FDI in retail will make around 2 crores people unemployed in Bharat. Indian farmer has to compete with American farmer who is getting 500 crores subsidy annually. Walmart has around 10000 stores in 180 countries giving employment to 21 Lakhs people. If Walmart gives 21 Lakhs employment in 10000 stores, how they can give 1 crore employment in Bharat? It is ridiculous! Different American studies have shown that after these multibrand stores, 90% small shops in USA have closed down. Highest unemployment in the history of US has come due to this phenomenon. How can they give employment in Bharat?

Walmart will bring sugar from Brazil, rice from Pakistan, clothes from China……Who will purchase products from Indian farmers?

Government should withdraw its decision to permit FDI in retail immediately, they should not surrender our national interest to G20 because due to pressure of G20, the Prime Minister has taken this decision.
