Egyptians vote in run-off elections

Egyptians voted again on Wednesday in the run-off for the individual list seats in the second phase of parliamentary election. The run-off vote will continue on Thursday .
118 candidates are competing for 59 seats in the parliament.
The run-off saw candidates from the two largest Islamist parties go head to head for seats in a third of the country’s provinces. As per the complex election system in Egypt voters cast ballots for party lists, which will comprise two thirds of parliament. Remaining one third come from the individual candidates.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice party and the hardliner salafist’s Al-Nour party have claimed more than 30 percent of the votes in the lists. In the first round of the elections the Islamist parties got around 65 percent of all votes
