Uttam Air Products Launches OxyGo – a lightweight, rust free and life changing oxygen cylinder heralding a new era in the treatment of respiratory diseases.
New Delhi, August 25, 2012:  Heralding a revolutionary era in home ventilation Uttam Air products in collaboration with the UK based Luxfer group today launched their new user friendly oxygen cylinder OxyGo.  OxyGo is oxygen on the move for patients in critical care and also for patients who have oxygenating needs at home. The kits were developed with aluminium bottles, as against the steel available in the market, making the lifesaving gas rust free. OxyGo benefits people suffering from pulmonary infections or diseases, heart patients, cancer patients and old people.
Mr Karan Bhatia, MD Uttam Air product says,” OxyGo will bring a positive change in the lives of people with oxygenation needs. Contrary to the traditional steel oxygen cylinders which corrode OxyGo kits are corrosion free. Unlike the bulky steel ones these aluminium cylinders are light weight and MRI compatible and available in different sizes. OxyGo is the only product available in the market addressing the needs of COPD patients by providing user friendly oxygen cylinders. We are the only company providing all possible solutions for the oxygenating needs for people suffering from COPD.” According to the WHO, COPD kills more people than HIV-AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis put together in the South East Asian region.
Dr R.K Mani renowned doctor, currently Director Critical Care and Sleep medicine at Artemis Hospital Gurgaon says, “An estimated Rs 35000 crore is spent by people every year in India to be treated for lung and pulmonary disorders. The amount of money spent is more than the budget of the Health Ministry. There is a need for a national programme on COPD prevention aimed at improving the life of a patient and reducing the mortality rate.”
Taking home ventilation a step forward Mr karan Bhatia with support from other organizations will soon be floating a community effort where they will make people with lung disorders connect with each other. Breathe Easy will educate and rehabilitate people with oxygenation needs especially patients with COPD.
