new attractive face of the Czech Republic

Czech Design, a world
known symbol for both original and innovative trends in fine arts as well as industrial
production, makes an integral part of contemporary Czech lifestyle and culture.
To increase event further a trade relation between India and the Czech
Republic, art and glass design is another segment to forge and strengthen the
growing business ties and presence of Czech Republic in India with the newly
opened Czech Glass showroom in Mumbai.
The Czech Art showroom opened on 16th of
April 2012 at Elegant Marbles Galleria,
Raghuvansh Mills Compound, Senapati Bapat Marg
in Mumbai. The evening was honoured by presence of Dr. Shivaji, Principal Secretary (Industries); Government of Maharashtra who together
with H.E. Ambassador of the Czech
Republic Mr. Miloslav Stasek officially
inaugurated the event. The opening speeches were as well given by Mrs.
Rashmi Jolly, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Mumbai, Mr. Raakesh
Agrawal, Managing director of Elegant Marbles, Ms. Radka Neumannova, director
of CzechTourism in India and Mr. Ivan Kamenik director of CzechTrade in India. The
great evening was privileged by a performance of Shaan, and appearance other
bollywood celebrities such as Mrs. Tina Ambani.
Czech Design has
given names to many famous international brands and styles like Skoda Car,
Bata, Laterna Magica, cubist or Art Nuoveau architectural styles. Czech glass-making tradition, which dates back till 16th century,
is nowadays sought after and imitated by many artists and craftsmen worldwide.
Bohemian Crystal and Czech Glass became famous for its excellent cut and
engraving, innovative techniques and brilliant artistic ideas. Selected famous
names like Borek Sipek http://www.sipek.com, one of the most significant new designers with international fame,
Jiri Pacinek, Jiri Tesar or Moser www.moser-glass.com/en/, producing luxurious crystal glass sets and decorative items, can be
obtained in a new showroom of Czech Art and Glass in Mumbai. Definitely this
event makes part of a larger scale development of expanding mutual economical
relations and trade between India and the Czech Republic, including tourism as
well.
During the last decade the
importance of trade and relations between the Czech Republic and India has been
steadily growing. As a result many Indian companies are currently investing in
the Czech Republic and the Czech Republic is becoming as well a popular tourist
destination. Presenting attractive Czech Design products into Indian market and
brings as well a positive image of the destination closer to Indian trade and
consumers.
Journey to the Glass destination
The popularity of glass as a art piece or glassware around the world lead
to the establishment of the so called “Glass Route”, taking tourists
around the sought-after region of Bohemian Paradise.. “Glass
Route” implies a journey to places bearing
the glass-making tradition and the region located in Northern Bohemia, which is
also one of the richest regions producing glass and glass products in the Czech
Republic. A large proportion of leading Czech aristocratic families throughout
Europe had their homes decorated with magnificent cut glass chandeliers and
glass sets. These filigree hand-made articles were produced by the glass
factory situated in Kamenický Šenov,
Nový Bor (seat of factory
Crystalex), Železný Brod,
Jablonec nad Nisou (seat of
Preciosa). Glass Route can take you as well to Karlovy Vary, famous spa city and home to
Moser Glass Factory.
