812,000 migrants, refugees arrive in Europe this year
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said in Geneva on Friday that 812,230 migrants and refugees have arrived in Europe this year, TASS reported. Greece has received 666,502 people, while 141,777 people arrived at Italy’s shores. IOM said that 3,499 migrants and refugees died at sea trying to get to Europe.

The 4th Delhi Film Festival will now be held in association with the Delhi Gov’;t at Connaught Place, the hub of all Delhiites making it the first and only International film festival of its kind to be held ever in the capital.
The festival will be embarked with Kick starrer Jacqueline’s feature film ‘Definition of Fear’. The organizers have also planned a tribute to the legendary Raj Kapoor by showing a Russian documentary ‘Comrade Raj Kapoor’. Zaklina Ostir, Eminent actress of European Cinema will also be present at the opening ceremony with Sh. Manish Sisodia being the Hon’;ble Deputy Chief Guest for the event.
The festival will have delegations from over 68 countries and will showcase more than 216 films and 150 artworks from around the globe and “Gujarat Special Art Show” will be the attraction.
The festival which will last for 5 days will be graced by many eminent personalities from the field of films, politics and fashion.
After its grand opening ceremony at Central Park on 5th December, the festival will be continued at N.D.M.C Convention Centre from 6th to 10th December.
Austria plans to build fence at Slovenia border
Austria plans to build a 3.7km fence either side of its busiest border crossing with Slovenia, Reuters reported. The move is part of efforts to manage the flow of thousands of migrants a day on to Austria’s territory, the general director of public security, Konrad Kogler, said on Friday. Measures will also include preparations for potentially building 25km of fence at short notice, Kogler said.
India meets Japan in Junior Men’s Hockey Asia Cup Opener
New Delhi, 13th November: The Indian colts meet the Japanese team in their first group match of the 8th Junior Men’s Asia Cup tomorrow. The match will be setting off the campaign for the Indian Junior Men’s team starting at 17:45 hrs IST. The 8thJunior Men’s Asia Cup is a premier tournament that will see the top 8 teams from Asia playing against each other for supremacy from 14th – 22nd November, 2015. The tournament will be staged atWisma Belia Hockey Stadium in Kuantan, Malaysia. India has been riding high on confidence post their performance at the 5th Sultan of Johor Cup.
Coach, Junior Men Hockey Team Harendra Singh said, “We feel Malaysia is our second home and we are expecting great support throughout the tournament. The Japanese play a very tight game and speed is their major weapon. We have worked on our defence and attack and we will be expecting to give a strong show in the tournament.”
Harjeet Singh, Captain, Junior Men Hockey Team said, “The whole team under the supervision of Coach Harendra Singh and has been training rigorously. We will try and stick to our routine and keep it simple. We believe Japan will be equally prepared and enthusiastic for the match, but we shall put our best foot forward.”
