༯span>
A nationwide momentum to make peopleⳠconcerns and aspirations count!
༯span>
WHAT: To share a PeopleⳠReview done in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur and Tamil Nadu. This initiative emerged in response to the assessment that strengthening the direct participation of marginalized groups in the policies and programmes of the government is critical if the provisions that have been made are to reach the most excluded groups and change their situation on the ground.༯span>
India has, at the level of policy, wholeheartedly embraced the MDGs framework over the past decade. Presently a coalition of over 4000 rights action groups across 31 states, the action agenda of Wada Na Thodo Abhiyan (WNTA) is built creating a movement for Governance Accountability to End Poverty and Social Exclusion.
WHY:
Deliberations around Post 2015 MDGs are on at every level, be it the UN, government or the CSOs, so it becomes important to conduct a reality check on where the Indian Government stands on its domestic and global commitments that are interlinked with each other.
