On responding to questions on non-disclosure of Naga peace accord which was signed between NSCN-IM and Centre on August 3, in public, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said, the details of the framework is nothing worth giving out because it is a confidence building step. Clarifying over the public apprehension, he said the sentiments of the people of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will not be by-passed while addressing the Naga problems.
“Sentiments of people of Northeast states neighbouring Nagaland will not be bypassed while implementing the peace accord signed between the Centre and NSCN(I-M),”the Union Minister told newsmen, who arrived in Manipur on Wednesday to assess the flood and landslide damage in the state.
He pointed out that the Centre would also see to the sentiments of the people of Nagaland in implementing the accord as it has high regards for the uniqueness of their culture. Welcoming the Naga peace accord, he said it would bring in peace in the country in general and the North East region in particular.
“So this is not going to be in the interest of one group or other. It will be in the interest of whole region. After all North East has been facing Insurgency problems for a very long time,” Rijiju said.

PROTEST AGAINST WOMEN WITCH AND HUNTING WAS HELD AT JANTAR MANTAR
To eliminate the evil doing of women witch and hunting, the director of the film ‘Kala Sach- the black truth’ P.Srivastav along with the film’s cast supported the protest being held at Jantar Mantar.
A woman today suffers a lot, one of the causes being called as a witch. In backward areas people still believes in witch hunting and then on the name of that people cuts their nose, ears, make them nude, puts black color on their faces and asks them to run in front of the whole village. They even tie them with trees and throw stones at them. Infact, they murder them openly but the saddest truth is no one questions. Based on this theme, a film has been directed by P.Srivastav as ‘Kala Sach-The Black Truth’ which stars Pakhi hedge, Himani Shivpuri, Mushtaq Khan and many others.
To end these Superstitious things which are killing the world, thousands of women gathered and questioned on it. Women from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Madhya Pradesh came to protest and discussed the harassment faced. They told that they have even been raped and suffers day to day molestation and that even after complaining it to the Panchayat, no action has been taken against the culprits so far.
This is the country where on one hand women are regarded as ‘Laksmi’ and on the other hand they are been killed on the name of ‘witch’. Imagine how she feels that after losing her identity to a witch she is even murdered, raped and suffers thousand of pains.
The protest has been done to end ‘women witch and hunting’ where the director of the film ‘Kala Sach-the black truth’ along with the heroine Pakhi hedge supported the victims and have appealed the government to make proper laws so that no other women would face such disaster.

Dear Naresh,
Right now, Greenpeace India’s freedom is under attack like never before. But it’s not just about us and our ability to work for a better future for India. Crackdowns on free speech spell bad news for all of us, and for hopes of a more tolerant, inclusive and democratic India.
This August 15th, our Independence Day, we’re going to stand up for free speech. Will you join us?
This year, we’ve had to deal with outrageous efforts by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to muzzle us – absurd lawsuits, frozen bank accounts and threats to cancel our registration. [1]
As India celebrates 68 years of being free and independent, we must fight to keep free speech as the cornerstone of our democracy.
Naresh, will you join that fight and support our Thunderclap? It’s quick and easy.
Your message will be broadcast along with all the other Indians standing up for free speech on August 15th.
Thanks for all you do,

Priya Pillai
Greenpeace India
P.S. Did you know India is the the world’s largest democracy? Let’s keep it that way! Join our Thunderclap.
