4 EU-India cooperation agreements: Research and Innovation Management Services (RIMS) with FINIBIS (Belgium) entered into 3 collaborations with Sustainable Reference and GM Hitech facilitated by EBTC Kolkata, and a third with AeroDef. The two-part workshop provided a platform for Basildon Borough Council and Aluva Municipality of Kerala to exchange an MoU facilitated by the British High Commission. |

5 EU-India Co-operation Agreements facilitated by EBTC this month

From ICT solutions and smart street lighting, to wastewater treatment, May 2015 saw exciting EU-India collaborations take place facilitated by EBTC.
EBTC Kolkata facilitated four agreements:
- Telensa (UK) and Adapt Solutions (P) Ltd. (Kolkata, India)
- Oxymem (Ireland) and Qualicom Solution (P) Ltd. (Bhubaneswar, India)
- Research and Innovation Management Services (RIMS) / FINIBIS (Belgium) with Sustainable Reference (Delhi, India)
- Research and Innovation Management Services (RIMS) / FINIBIS (Belgium) with GM Hitech (Alwar, India)
A fifth agreement was signed between:
- Research and Innovation Management Services (RIMS) / FINIBIS (Belgium) with AeroDef Solutions (New Delhi, India)

April 2015 saw EBTC's Regional Director from Kolkata, Mr. Suman Lahiri, head to Italy and Greece to connect with European cleantech companies and clusters and develop channels to support European organisations considering internationalising. As a result, approximately 75 SMEs have been brought inside EBTC’s network.

EBTC was a key supporter of Busworld India 2015 - a two day seminar ‘In the footsteps of Prime Minister Mr. Modi (India) – increasing mobility via cleaner, safer and effective bus and coach services'. Amongst other esteemed speakers, Mr. Dibyendu Sengupta (Transport Sector Specialist, EBTC) addressed India-EU collaborations in cleantech related to the transport sector.

‘Frugal innovation’ is a buzzword when looking towards India, however European SMEs can find it hard to internalise the ‘less is more’ approach. This was one of the outcomes of the 1st Indo-German Economic Forum in Leipzig organised by EBTC’s partner Fraunhofer MOEZ along with the German Indian Round Table (GIRT).
