Delhi Government will ensure that Auto-Rickshaw and Taxi operators can buy GPS at cheaper rates.
In a public hearing held at Burari Transport Authority, Delhi Transport Minister Shri Gopal Rai directed the Transport Department to enlist the companies which can provide meters having inbuilt GPS ranging from Rs. 8,000 to 9,000. MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Shri Sanjeev Jha was also present on the occasion.
At a public hearing, issues were raised before the Minister, some sorted out on the spot and others directed to the officer concerned to solve in a time-bound manner.
Shri Rai further informed that now, the requirement of Class 8th certificates won’t be compulsory for renewal of commercial license and that all forms related to Transport Authorities would be available in Hindi also. Instructions to form Help Desks and provision of water facility at all Transport Authority offices were also given.
The Transport Department has been directed to upload all details of parking space pertaining to existing autos and taxis across the national capital on website and to ensure to get the first seat reserved for disabled/ blind persons in DTC buses.
He also informed that a new DTC Bus pass centre would be established very soon at Burari and that the Government will ensure that no corruption takes place at the offices of Transport Department.
