Japan and India share a “Special Strategic and Global Partnership”. The relations between the two countries are of immense importance to each other and the world. A resurgent Japan and a transforming India could potentially reshape the Asian Strategic landscape. Japan is a partner to India whether it is building industrial corridors in India or becoming the formal partner of the Malabar Exercise. Both the countries have witnessed significant deepening of bilateral relations in the past three years and a growing convergence in the political, economic and strategic interests. At one level, this is based on the firm foundation of common values and traditions and on an emerging consensus on contemporary issues of peace, security and development.
This session will focus on the potential of India and Japan for working together to elevate their partnership to a higher stage and advance common strategic objectives at a time when the global community is faced with new challenges.
